Primary Purpose: The Federal Contracts Managers will aim to work collaboratively with other business units to help the Company achieve its business objectives while complying with the wide array of laws and regulations affecting our global business. FAR Group holds contracts with virtually every federal civilian, defense, and intelligence agency. Assist the operations team to deliver exceptional results to our clients world-wide. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Review all incoming Federal Contract awards to ensure compliance Preparing, submitting, and negotiating government contract requests for equitable adjustment and claims Provide counsel to project managers on a variety of contractual matters with the ultimate goal to prevent low-level contractual matters from escalating Preparing company responses to government claims, audits and investigations Advising on and managing bid protests Conducting internal investigations Support FAR Group's compliance program by preparing and conducting training on various government contracts topics. Up to 30% travel may be required to Virginia (Stafford & Richmond) as well as to company offices overseas. Strong emphasis is placed on the candidate with a hands-on style who seeks to handle most legal issues in-house in collaboration with fellow attorneys as well as contracts and compliance professionals. Job Qualifications: Minimum of three-five years of substantive government contracts experience as a contracts administrator, manager, or equivalent position Strong working knowledge of US Government including knowledge of the FAR, DFAR, and various FAR Supplements Must have demonstrated ability to independently draft, negotiate, and settle Requests for Equitable Adjustments and Certified Claims Experience managing subordinates Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Analytical with excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative spirit Ability to work under pressure with time sensitive deadlines Self-motivated in a fast-paced environment Capability to be "in the weeds" as needed while being able to be a "big picture thinker".
