Responsible for the technical, architecture, and engineering changes to customer LANs/MANs/WANs. Engineers, configures, troubleshoots, and supports Cisco and Linux-based router solutions. Designs and implements new solutions and technologies based on emerging technologies with Government approval. Reviews and recommends information that may result in the purchase and installation of hardware, software, and/or telecommunications services. Recommends network architecture changes to improve performance, security, etc. Develops highly detailed network design diagrams and documentation to be utilized by Government and contract staff. Acts as the technology lead for designing the network and security platforms and technical lead supporting the network. Other responsibilities include security audits, assessments, design, implementation, and configuration. Provides technical vision in the support and deployment of network and security technologies. Works with project managers, business analysts, and Contractors on security solutions to address customers’ security requirements. Researches and recommends information on security-related solutions. Performs software evaluations and testing of new and existing security solutions. Functions as a “Tier 4” support resource on network products and problems that are in use. Installs, configures and operates networks in highly complex environments with specific protocols and instructs and directs those doing these tasks as well. The Senior Network Engineer plans, designs, implements, tests, and supports network solutions between multiple platforms. Systems Engineer: Leads, plans, and executes highly complex engineering activities. Functions as the technical lead for all design-to-cost and life-cycle activities for large-scale projects. Design and engineer virtual infrastructure leveraging various Hypervisors, and VDI technologies to include HyperV, XenServer, ESXi, and VMWare. Design and engineer a global virtual desktop infrastructure. Designs, builds, maintains, and supports a variety of workstation and server images to include both current and legacy Windows and Linux operating systems. Designs, builds, maintains, and supports automated system patching and software deployment systems. Supports remote end-user systems, troubleshoots, and resolves issues at a Senior “Tier 4” level of support. Works with outside organizations to support federated systems. Designs and implements new solutions and technologies based on emerging technologies with Government approval. Reviews information that may result in the purchase and installation of hardware, software, and/or telecommunications services. Experienced in the areas of system architecture and design. Responsible for assisting the Government representative on the technical direction, leadership, and training of less experienced Contractor staff. Telecommunications Engineer: Coordinate problem-resolution procedures with IT support and Telecommunications Vendors. Coordinate the deployment of telecommunications circuits, satellite communications, and testing of equipment and services. Will be responsible for coordinating the activation services, fault isolation on any performance-affecting issues, and repair or replacement of components that are deemed faulty. Stay informed of new technologies and solutions that may meet mission needs and requirements. Provide global support for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities, i.e., periodic PMI, circuit restorations, circuit activations, circuit troubleshooting, infrastructure repair, system relocations, etc. Responsible for the installation of conduit, ladder racks, demarcation boxes, power runs, breaker panels, breakers, and any other infrastructure needs to support a satellite installation or O&M project. Responsible for developing, interpreting, and utilizing drawings or wiring schematics. Responsible for providing effective communication of all activities, issues, concerns, and needs on a daily and/or weekly basis during an installation or O&M project using formal and informal channels. Ensuring that all project documentation is filled out completely, grammatically correct, factual, and delivered in a timely and professional manner. Further, the technician is responsible for communicating the details of any installation or O&M activity to on-site customers before commencement and after all project activities. Cloud Engineer: Responsible for the evaluation of cloud strategy and program architecture. Responsible for gathering system requirements and working together with application architects and owners. Responsible for generating scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning of resources. Discover standard cloud services offerings, install, and execute processes and standards for optimal use of cloud service provider offerings. Planning, designing, and developing cloud-based applications. Responsible for debugging technical issues inside a complex stack involving virtualization, containers, microservices, etc. Collaborate with the engineering teams to enable their applications to run on cloud infrastructure. Managing cloud environments per company security guidelines. Training teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required. Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they escalate into problems. Use knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as needed. Software Engineer: Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC) Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions. Write well-designed, testable code. Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility. Integrate software components into a fully functional software system. Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures. Document and maintain software functionality. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems. Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback. Comply with project plans and industry standards. Ensure software is updated with latest features. Responsible for gathering system requirements and working together with application architects and owners. • Responsible for generating scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning of resources. Planning, designing, and developing cloud-based applications. Support Microsoft SharePoint development as well as MS Power tools Responsible for debugging technical issues inside a complex stack involving virtualization, containers, microservices, etc. Training teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required. Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they escalate into problems. Use knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as needed. Service Desk Operation Manager: Coordinate problem-resolution procedures with IT support and ET personnel. Generate call scripts and problem-resolution documentation. Create, maintain, and consolidate new and existing documentation into an IT solutions database. Produce monthly metrics reports based on help desk tickets. Producing Ad-Hoc reports as directed by government personnel. Monitors any unplanned interruption to an IT service or a reduction in the quality of the IT service. Produces daily problem reports for management. Undertakes proactive steps to advise customers of major outages. Gathers information related to all Critical Incidents and distributes all Critical Incident notifications to designated management and key personnel based on the critical incident. Works with all solver groups involved with each critical incident to coordinate the information communicated. Monitors ticket queues for trends/patterns that may warrant Master Ticket & critical notification. Gathers information, creates, and distributes outage and/or problem reports to management. Manages all Ad-Hoc messages posted to the EOC phone numbers regarding major issues. Coordinate all Service Desk staff schedules to ensure proper coverage. Coordinate and assess training requirements for new Service Desk support staff. Systems Administrator: Proactively and reactively monitor all servers, applications, systems, and databases, both onsite and remotely. Provides advanced troubleshooting and deploys advanced system-level fault detection. Takes corrective action by remotely identifying and escalating issues through monitoring, to ensure the operability of all servers and all systems. Provides user support for workstation issues. Provides training, guidance, and assistance to mid-level sysadmins. Assists with scheduling and performing site backups. Takes corrective action to resolve storage issues. Performs server remote control to troubleshoot and resolve network issues. Uses provided tools to monitor and manage system servers. Implements and maintains routine, general, and in-depth network and systems services. Supports deployment of configuration changes or updates on all servers and workstations attached to the networks. Supports laptop and workstation imaging and updates. Supports and troubleshoots issues pertaining to the endpoint manager, virtual environment, and any other user-reported issues. Develops documentation and diagrams relating to all CIRG’s enterprise systems. Supports various operating systems including, but not limited to, Windows Server (all versions), Windows (all versions), and various Linux distros. Assists System engineers when appropriate. Supports configuration of network multi-function printers. Supports deployment of configuration changes or updates on all servers and workstations attached to the networks. Supports laptop and workstation imaging and updates. Supports and troubleshoots VDI components and user issues. Maintains documentation and diagrams relating to designated CIRG enterprise systems. Supports various operating systems including, but not limited to, Windows Server, Windows, and Linux. Escalates issues to System Engineers when appropriate. Supports configuration of network multi-function printers. The ability to support and administer cloud-based resources is highly preferred. Network Administrator: Monitors networks for traffic anomalies, service disruptions, and indications of site or region trouble provided network monitoring tools. Monitors network router/switch status, respond to network alarms, and respond to associated problems. Supports both Cisco and Linux-based routing platforms. Remotely accesses routers, switches, Type 1 Encryption devices, and other equipment to provide support. Assists System Administrators with network directories, reports, and scheduling events. Remotely monitors video teleconferencing equipment and resolves issues as necessary. Troubleshoots and resolves network problems relating to all deployment kits. Manages connection outages, bandwidth utilization, and peaks. Create reports to show trends using the Network Management Information System (NMIS) software. Takes corrective action to ensure the operability of all switches, routers, and networks are fully operational. Performs configuration changes to network devices such as firmware upgrades and device configuration changes, as directed by management and in accordance with change management processes. Performs port-security changes as necessary to ensure proper security compliance. Performs remote control to the servers to troubleshoot and resolve network issues. Performs “soft” changes to network devices, such as firmware upgrades and device configuration changes, as directed by management in accordance with the change management process (approved changes only). Monitors network and systems performance and troubleshoot problems. Creates and maintains network diagrams for all new and existing deployed kits. Configures and troubleshoots Cisco IP Phones. Configures new routers, switches, Type 1 Encryption devices, and other equipment for new deployment kits. Escalates issues to Tier 3 engineers when appropriate. Assists with maintaining network monitoring tools. The ability to support and administer cloud-based resources is highly preferred. Cloud Administrator: Support Government clients in their cloud operations to enhance, optimize, and maintain computing capabilities across their technology landscape. Interview clients to understand their application and infrastructure's current state. Lead client working sessions to identify, categorize, prioritize, and analyze data and information to work into cloud migration action plans. Work with the larger project teams to migrate legacy applications to their cloud platform. Manage cloud infrastructure from the portal, PowerShell, or by using the CLI. Utilize automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar. Assist with upgrading, installing, configuring, and monitoring solutions in AWS for both Windows and Linux servers. Maintain gold images and scripts. Information System Security Engineer (ISSE): Discover Information System Protection Needs by analyzing the Activity's mission. Identify legal and regulatory requirements, identify classes of threats, determine impacts against risk, identify security services, document the protections needed, and identify design constraints. Define System Security Requirements by developing the system security context, Security Concept of Operations (CONOPs), and Security Requirements Baselines from the gathered Customer and Stakeholder requirements. Design System Security Architecture by working with System Engineers in the areas of functional analysis and allocation by analyzing candidate architectures, allocating security services, and selecting security mechanisms. The ISSE identifies components or elements, allocates security functions to those elements, and describes the relationships between the elements. Develop Detailed Security Design by analyzing design constraints, analyzing trade-offs, and generating detailed system and security design, with life-cycle support consideration. Implement System Security from the hands-on approach to participation in a multidisciplinary examination of all systems issues that provides input to the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process activities. Assess Information Protection Effectiveness by focusing on the effectiveness of the information protection and whether the system can provide confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and nonrepudiation for the information it is processing that is required for mission success. Evaluate Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) and Government off the Shelf (GOTS) technologies - systems, applications, and services -against the Activity's INFOSEC and Cybersecurity requirements and needs. Conduct INFOSEC and Cybersecurity assessment testing and reporting in accordance with the RMF and NIST 800 53, identify deficiencies and document them as Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms), and provide recommendations for solutions in line with best practices and security industry standards. Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO): Assist the ISSM in meeting their duties and responsibilities. Prepare, review, and update authorization packages. Ensure approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying various types of hardware and media. Notify ISSM when changes occur that might affect the authorization determination of the information system(s). Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package. Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO before the change. Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly. Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals. Ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (to include any anomalies). Attend required technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties. Execute the cyber security portion of the self-inspection, including providing security coordination and review of all system assessment plans. Identify cyber security vulnerabilities and assist with the implementation of the countermeasures for them. Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems. Perform ISSO duties in support of in-house and external customers. Conduct continuous monitoring activities for authorization boundaries under your preview.
