JOB DESCRIPTION General Description & Classification Standards:The Chief IT Engineer Officer serves as a key executive within the Information Technology (IT) department reporting directly to the Chief Information/Technology Officer. This role is responsible for overseeing innovative projects across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, software security, and AI integration. The successful candidate will lead highly technical professionals, ensuring the seamless deployment of new initiatives and alignment with organizational objectives. This role is similar to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) positions in traditional organizations.RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties & Responsibilities:* DevSecOps and Agile Expertise:o Possess a deep understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices.o Demonstrate knowledge in DevSecOps toolsets and how they integrate.o Understand modern development methodologies such as Agile.o Incorporate the DevSecOps culture and mindset with all technology practices.* Cloud Deployment:o Lead the deployment of capabilities to cloud environments.o Ensure scalability, reliability, and security.o Provide cloud vision for the organization.* Cybersecurity Leadership:o Implement modern cybersecurity practices including Zero-Trust and DevSecOps.o Oversee security aspects related to software engineering and cloud infrastructure.o Work with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on innovative practices.* Technical Leadership:o Lead and mentor highly technical professionals.o Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.* Collaboration with Operations Team:o Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless hand-over of new initiatives, optimizing operational efficiency and effectiveness.QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications:* Education and Experience:o Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, cybersecurity or a related field and a minimum of 10 years' experience leading engineering teams in software engineering and cloud environments. or o a minimum of 15 years' experience leading engineering teams in software engineering and cloud environments without an equivalent degree (equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis).* Leadership and Communication:o Significant experience as an IT leader in medium to large organizations.o Demonstrated ability to incorporate core values of integrity, collaboration, accountability, respect, and excellence (ICARE).Preferred Qualifications:* Advanced Education and Experience:o Master's degree in software engineering, engineering, or information systems management.* Communication and Collaboration Skills:o Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage conflict, build consensus, and facilitate collaboration among various stakeholders.* Project Leadership:o Extensive experience leading projects related to standing up enterprise cloud environments, DevSecOps software factories, and modern cybersecurity practices.* Certifications:o Certified ScrumMaster.o CISM or CISSP.o AWS, Azure, or Google cloud certification.Essential Capabilities and Work EnvironmentRequired physical, lifting, and sensory capabilities are requirements to perform the job successfully.
